Some new work and another show!

semi abstract carrot still lifeNow that my Adirondack chair painting has sold, I felt I needed some larger work to complete my booth. This was the answer. I finished it right before the Park City show. This week I managed to take it in to be photographed. So here it is. Carrots Too-At the Market, 48×36 inches, oil on canvas.
I will be taking this painting with me to my next show in Bend Oregon, Aug 28th-30th. It will be my third show at Art in the High Desert and I feel honored to be going back. If you’re in the Bend Area, stop by booth #19 and say hi. It is in the park across the river from the Old Mill District shopping center. It’s a beautiful location. Check out the artist gallery to check out all the wonderful artists that will be showing this year.

First painting of 2015

orange stripped squash 1cadjI finally got off my duff and finished a new painting! This one is of some little orange striped squash I found at a farmer’s market near my cottage last fall. I rather like that it’s not all green :). 16×16, oil on1.5 inch cradled claybord. It will be at least a month before it’s available on my etsy shop. I need to let it dry and then varnish it.

I want to paint at least two more fruit or veggies this size. Also, I have a couple in my “cottage” series ready to go, also 16×16.

More cottage fun

I thought I’d take advantage of the absolutely beautiful weather we’ve been having and photograph my two latest creations. They’re both 16×16, oil on cradled claybord. These are based on photos I took at my cottage in Ontario last summer. I’m rather liking the way the bird house turned out. I’m currently working on a 36×24 painting of spring onions.
